Nestled in Leopard Creek Canyon surrounded by red rock cliffs sits Canyon Hideaway. Located just off scenic Highway 62, part of the famous San Juan Skyway, this home is situated on 75 beautiful acres with public land on 3 sides including several miles of Leopard Creek.

The property is ideally located to take advantage of the many outdoor activities available in Southwest Colorado. Just 2 miles from the San Miguel River at Placerville and less than 20 miles from Telluride, Ridgway, and Norwood, there are unlimited activities for Spring, Summer and Fall. Mountain biking at Telluride Bike Park or the trails at Ridgway. Road biking on Highway 62 which has a wide paved shoulder. Kayaking and rafting on the San Miguel River in the spring. Fly fishing on the San Miguel, Dolores or Uncompahgre Rivers not to mention numerous alpine lakes and streams. Hiking and backpacking opportunities abound throughout the region, and there is an old mining road just steps out the front door and a trail up and down Leopard Creek. Off-roading and touring the San Juan Skyway are easy day trips from the house.

The house is a modern 2 bedroom, 2 ½ bath with a very rustic charm. The reverse floor plan is somewhat unique, with the bedrooms on the first floor andthe  living space upstairs. No lugging heavy suitcases up the stairs and the views from the second floor are beautiful. There are large decks on the front and back of the house. The back deck has a gas grill. They are great places to hang out at the end of the day to relax and plan the next day’s adventure. The stargazing from either deck is spectacular since there are no other houses within a mile of the house and no intrusive light.

  • More than 60 days prior to arrival: No penalty for cancellation.
  • Within 60 days of arrival: We will re-list the property and try to re-rent it. If successful, we will refund the first payment minus a 10% processing fee of the first payment amount.
  • Within 29 days of arrival after the final payment posts: The same process applies, but the 10% cancellation fee will apply to the total lodging costs.
  • Trip cancellation insurance: an inexpensive way to protect your vacation investment. Call your own agent or ask us for our Red Sky Travel Insurance plan.
