What to Expect from Telluride Temperatures in the Spring
Now, the really interesting part about Telluride in spring is the vast difference in temperatures from when the season begins and when it ends. As we mentioned above, early spring is still snow season in Telluride, and highs may not climb any higher than the mid-40s while the lows will drop below freezing. Packing your winter wardrobe is necessary in the early days of the season, remembering that winter doesn’t always like to relinquish its grip on the Telluride mountains.
By the end of spring, however, visitors can expect highs in the mid-70s and nighttime temps that will probably not drop below freezing. There will be a big difference between day and night temperatures, however, so pack layers, knowing that it will still be quite frosty when you start your spring hike and will warm up considerably by midday. In between, you can expect more of the same, cold and not so cold, but probably very little rain, as our rainy season hits during the summer months.
