Telluride Town Park

Located in the heart of town, Telluride Town Park serves as a major entertainment hub, a relaxing green space, and the center of many family activities. We at Accommodations in Telluride invite our guests to explore the park during their stay!

Telluride Town Park Overview: Central Green Space in the Heart of Town

Just as Central Park is integral to the heart of New York City, Telluride Town Park is integral to ours. Offering 36 acres of beautiful landscape and all the things expected from a park, it is also where many of our local events and festivals are held. There is just something wonderful about hanging out on the green grass, the mountains standing guard in the background, and feeling a part of the moment.

Located at 500 E Colorado Avenue, on the eastern edge of the downtown area, you may find yourself playing in the park all morning and then walking to your favorite downtown restaurant. Telluride Town Park is a 5- to 10-minute walk away from the most popular downtown restaurants, shops, and other local landmarks.

Summer Activities and Things to Do in Telluride Town Park

Unlike many mountain towns, summer in Telluride is a popular time for visitors, offering so many activities that you may wonder why we are considered a winter vacation destination. Below, we have listed some of our favorite summer activities and things to do in Telluride Town Park.

  • Town Park Pool – Offering a heated lap pool and a kid-friendly zero-entry splash area with fountains, the pool is a fun way to cool off in the warmer months.
  • Sports and Recreation – A variety of sports fields and courts are consistently in use in the summer months.

Winter Use and Seasonal Changes in the Park

Telluride Town Park changes a little during the winter season, but it still remains a viable and fun activity center. Perhaps the most popular change in the winter months is the ice rinks set up throughout the park, both outside and inside at the Telluride Town Park Pavilion. Other winter use activities are listed below.

  • Nordic Skiing – The trails you hike on in the summer months make beautiful cross-country skiing trails in the winter.
  • Snowshoeing – You can strap on some snowshoes and continue working to get your steps on those same trails.
  • Sledding – What kid, or adult for that matter, doesn’t love riding down a hill on a piece of plastic? There are places in the park where sledding is allowed.

Festival Grounds and Major Events at Town Park

The Telluride Town Park events and festivals are perhaps the most loved use of the park. We’ve included some of the top festivals below.
