End of Ski Season
When it comes to finding some of the best ski conditions in the country, you simply cannot get any better than Colorado. Our home state features several mountains that are part of the San Juan Mountains that offer premier ski conditions. Our ski season tends to last long throughout the year as well. While most parts of the country will be warming up, we still have snow up on the mountains here in Telluride. Our ski season will finally come to a close on April 6th this year. Each year, the opening and closing dates for our ski season depend on the snow conditions. However, this year we are able to have a concrete end date for the season so you can easily plan for your upcoming April trip.

Telluride is home to the Telluride Ski Resort that is your one stop for all things ski related. Even with our season coming to an end, you will find plenty of snow up on the slopes right now. Telluride Ski Resort has received a variety of awards making it a great spot to spend your time on the mountain. Visitors are able to purchase their lift tickets in advance, including single day passes and season long passes. These ski lifts are necessary to reach the top of the slopes so you can enjoy the ride down. Telluride Ski Resort offers plenty of trails for you to explore too. The resort area is huge with several lifts that will take you to specific areas, including Palmyra Peak and Black Iron Bowl. You will find various difficulties for the trails including black diamond slopes for experienced skiers.
Telluride Ski Resort is also a great place for the inexperienced as well. Ski and snowboard lessons will quickly get you up to speed to feel comfortable at taking on a run down the mountain. The onsite rental shop has all the gear you need to. You can choose from a large selection of skis, boards, poles, boots, bindings, helmets, and much more. Simply put, Telluride Ski Resort has everything you need for a successful final run for the end of the season. Don’t miss out on the season closer happening on April 6th giving you one last chance for a little bit of winter fun before the snow melts away.
Silverton Splitfest 2025

While the ski season is ending on April 6th here in Telluride, you can take the quick drive over to Silverton and check out their Splitfest 2025 taking place the following weekend. For the unaware, a splitboard is a two-piece board that can split to resemble skis. This unique take on snowboarding has been gaining traction and is an exciting way to traverse the slopes. Splitfest brings together the winter sports community with vendors and gear manufacturers to highlight the latest gear and finds. Educators will be on hand to help you become familiar with the sport but is not a guided fest that includes guides taking you out on the snow. Instead, this is a great way for experienced splitboarders to meet others interested in the sport and try out some new gear for purchase. The Silverton Splitfest 2025 will take place April 11th through the 13th and will be their 12th annual gathering for the fun.
